Joining Forces In Time Of Crisis To Assist in Relief Efforts in Beirut
In light of the disaster that hit Beirut, the Lebanese diaspora organizations SEAL,  LIFE,  LebNet — joined by Jamhour Alumni and the non-governmental US based Kuwait-America Foundation — have formed a unified humanitarian effort under the Beirut Emergency Fund 2020.
On Aug 4th, 2020 a massive explosion rocked Beirut causing catastrophic humanitarian, economic and public health crises. Over 200 people were killed, over 6,000 thousand wounded, and adding to this tragedy, thousands of homes have been shattered and destroyed leaving 300,000 Lebanese displaced with no shelter.
Our aim is to amplify coordination, outreach and impact.
The Beirut Emergency Fund 2020 is prioritizing the most pressing needs on the ground: Hospitals, Medical and Mental Health Support, and Shelter, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction. Recipient organizations undergo a rigorous vetting and due diligence process. Disbursement of the funds is strictly governed with full transparency about recipient organizations.
