The Monastery of St. Michael owns over 600,000 square meters of land in Benabil, an abandoned area until 2005. The monks were planning to develop it, from both an economic and social perspective, and had already purchased (using proceeds from the sale of pine nuts) 20 milk cows, 50 pigs and 50 cases of bees. SEAL contributed to the development of an organic chicken farm that created 30 jobs for individuals from the Mar Mikhael Benabil, Ain El Sendiyen, and Ain El Zaytouni areas.
