This project
will oversee the installation of 1600m of 5-inch water networks in Fradis
village near Zgharta. The project aims to unlock economic opportunity by
irrigating previously arid lands and therefore increasing the quality and
quantity of agricultural production (which includes diverse vegetable
production as well as apricot, peach, plum and persimmon) in the area. It will
also work towards the sustainable harnessing of the area’s natural resources by
ensuring investment in the land for agricultural use; and it will facilitate
social collaboration by allowing the equal distribution of water between
farmers.
This project is a part of SEAL’s IRRIGATION NETWORK program, which digs wells and installs irrigation systems throughout Lebanon.
