Impact
100 farmers save $50 per day, using each tractor 80 days per year (totaling annual savings of $50 x 80 days x 2 tractors = $8,000).
SEAL will buy 2 small agricultural tractors of 45 horsepower to be used in the agricultural areas of Hasbaya, allowing farmers to reduce costs and increase productivity. The local agricultural crop is mostly olives, which do not require irrigation. However, in springtime, grasses grow around the olive trees that take from their water supply, so the orchards need to be ploughed each year in order to preserve water for the olive trees. The tractors will allow this ploughing to happen efficiently.
