Bekaakafra is often cited as the highest village in Lebanon and the Middle East, rising to 1650m. St Charbel Agricultural Cooperative was established to support local farmers and improve their living standards.

SEAL purchased equipment including vegetable choppers, driers, peelers and mincers, in order for the cooperative to launch a business selling a variety of natural products from agricultural produce, generating income for local people.
