Increase of arable lands of 512,000 square meters

Following the initial phase of this project in 2012, which included the installation of 1,000 meters of water pipes originating from an artificial lake in Deir Al Ahmar, SEAL continued with the second phase, extending the pipes by an additional 2,000 meters. The installation of the additional pipes provided irrigation to an additional 512,000m2 of land. As a result, farmers were able to increase their crop production and generate higher income. They mainly plant vines for winemaking. While the first phase of the project benefited 600 farmers, the second phase benefited an additional 31 farmers.

This project is a part of SEAL’s IRRIGATION NETWORK program, which digs wells and installs irrigation systems throughout Lebanon.
