SEAL Appoints New Executive Director

New York, NY (Feb 12, 2019)- The Board of Directors of SEAL (Social and Economic Action for Lebanon) is pleased to announce the appointment of Norma Haddad as Executive Director. Haddad is well positioned to lead SEAL, a non-profit organization devoted to unlocking sustainable economic opportunities in underserved Lebanese communities in Lebanon.

Haddad brings more than two decades of leadership and executive management experience across education, government and non profit sectors. Haddad’s work in strategic planning, communications, public affairs and marketing has significantly contributed to the overall success of several organizations, from early start-up stages, through growth and expansion.

Most recently, Haddad worked as the Director of Special Projects for the Education Above All Foundation, where she was responsible for the implementation of operational and financial reform for the Mauritania Project, a large-scale program that provided support in education, training and health in underserved areas of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

"We are very pleased that Norma will be joining SEAL as its new Executive Director,” said George Bitar, SEAL Board President. “Her 20+ years of management experience in government and non-profit organizations will allow SEAL to accelerate its growth and increase the funding of sustainable economic opportunities throughout under-served communities in Lebanon. “

Haddad is passionate about SEAL and is looking forward to joining the team. "I am delighted to join SEAL and be part of a team that is committed to helping the grassroots of society in Lebanon live with dignity- and reach their full potential,” said Haddad. “Social and economic empowerment is key to a healthy society and every action counts.”

Haddad’s hiring comes as SEAL implements a plan of strategic growth in grant programs, project expansion and partnership development, building on the successes of the last two years, led by outgoing Executive Director, Victoria Lupton.

“We are very appreciative of the excellent contribution that Victoria Lupton has made to the organization and very fortunate that she has agreed to continue to support SEAL as a member of our Beirut committee,” said Bitar.'
