LET’S ALL FEED A LEBANESE FAMILY IN NEED!

SEAL has partnered with trusted Lebanese NGOs to implement humanitarian food drive efforts while preserving over 200 jobs by buying the food stock of producers that are SEAL grant recipients. In December 2019 and January 2020, we were able to distribute to 600 Lebanese families in need food boxes containing mouneh produced by SEAL recipients. But more work needs to be done in order to sustain this effort.

The numbers are startling: 10% of the Lebanese population lives below extreme poverty line (US$ 2.4/day)
49% are worried about access to food
250,000 people lost their jobs since October 2019 and increasing
40% of wages have been slashed
Sources: MoSA, CAS, UNDP, World Bank, WFP, and media reports.
